SIR,

The weather on Bank Holiday Monday in Penallt even defeated the redoubtable Rain or Shine Theatre Company.

With great reluctance as the rain poured down, we had to cancel our Shakespeare in the Park show this year in Babington Meadow and we apologise to all our loyal followers. It would have been the fifth year in a row that we have run this popular and successful event.

Next year we will have a Plan B in place in case the weather lets us down again. The show being planned now will be The Comedy of Errors – Shipwreck. Slapstick. Shakespeare at his best.

In the meantime we are gearing up for our Art in Penallt festival from 5th to 9th October with a dinner and lecture at the Inn at Penallt, a fine art show at Capel Pentwyn and an art boot sale in Babington Meadow – we have already booked the marquees and are determined not to disappoint again.
