A MAN has been arrested and charged with arson in connection with a fire in Waitrose, Monmouth, last Thursday (28th May).

The small fire was started in a cubicle in the men's toilets just after 5.10pm and the store was evacuated. While the fire caused damage to the wall of the cubicle, it burnt out before serious damage was caused. 

The 28 year old man from Monmouth has been bailed to appear at Newport Magistrates Court on 30th June.
