Penallt Tennis Club's teenagers had a very blustery morning for their tournament, but despite the awkward wind conditions the standard of play was better than ever.

In a neeedle match between Arianna Guppy and Chris Widdicks, they both played excellent shots and judged them well with a high percentage landing on the lines.

The play off between Seamus Cooper and Chris was also fast and furious and closely contested with a number of deuces.

Even in the younger group there were a large number of legthy rallies and plenty of crafty shots.

Playing in the younger group were James Ashford, Alexia Guppy, Matthew Handley and Laura Peacock.

James and Matthew tied for first place, Laura had the runner-up shield with Alexia just two points behind.

In the older group, the players were Molly Winder, Juliette Hagg, Arianna Guppy, Rhys Cann, Seamus Cooper and Chris Widdicks.

Arianna finished first, scoring a maximum of 15 points, Chris Widdicks was two points behind and Seamus another two points behind.
