Monmouth Tennis Club held their annual American Tournament on July 5th, just one day after Independence Day!
The tournament was hotly contested between 14 keen members and the winner was Peter Harrie, followed closely by Judith Oakley.
As has become tradition within the club, lunch was served afterwards in the Pavilion and then the members settled down to watch the Wimbledon Men's Final.
Monmouth Tennis Club's ladies team is currently top of the summer league table with just one more match to play. They were also successful in the semi-final of the Minor Cup event, played against Abergavenny B team and will be playing the final when it stops raining!
Due to recent expansion of the club it has been decided to enter 2 ladies teams in the Cymru Kitchens Winter League.
