Following a meeting between the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust and staff at Monmouth
Ambulance station there is a possibility that all staff and vehicles will be moved to Abergavenny in the next few months the Beacon has been told.
Apparently, the building is in need of repairs and the boiler has now broken down, which would mean the building will deteriorate further.
The building was erected in the late 1960's, the same time as the fire station, but is in a poor state of repair and it could possibly cost upwards of £100,000 to repair.
A move to combine the Ambulance and Fire stations in town under one roof, welcomed by local crews, has been ruled out as not practical, even though such a partnership works well elsewhere.
