MADAM,
As a farmer I would have joined many thousands from Wales marching for liberty and livelihood in London on March 18th. Now, with the shadow of foot and mouth over the nation, I must applaud the responsible action of the Countryside Alliance in postponing the event.
Our resolve to retain the traditions of the countryside are strengthened at this testing time. Let there be no doubt though that when we are called upon again in the future, London will see the biggest march yet.
