SIR,

I wish to complain about the duration of an Alarm at Monmouth Comprehensive School, emanating from the new school building alongside New Dixton Road. Noise from this Alarm has been a nuisance since 7pm on Friday 3rd April, all through the night and at the present time of 10.30am on Saturday 4th is still in operation mode and has seemingly been left to run repeatedly (20 minutes on and 20 minutes off) unattended.

 I had phoned the Gwent police headquarters on two occasions during the night at 11.25pm and 12.35am, in the hope they might be interested, but to no avail and this morning being a Saturday no one at the School, County Council, or at the local One Stop Shop have been available to handle this complaint.

 Owing to the school's proximity to my home I find the alarm, left to run as it has, very disturbing and the present situation objectionable. Unless someone happens to attend this alarm it will just continue disturbing the neighbourhood over the entire weekend and until the school resumes.
