A man was airlifted to hospital with a broken leg after a digger slipped off a county road and down a bank.
The digger was on its way to the Brookhouse Culvert, off the B4347, when it got stuck on the edge of the narrow lane between Norton and Grosmont.
Diana Stainforth witnessed the whole thing as it happened right outside her window.
"I was on the phone to my friend telling her the road was blocked by this digger when I saw it start to go," she said.
"It was absolutely terrifying. The wheels were hanging off the edge of the road for a while and other than that there is just a hedge and a steep drop.
"It went over on its side and rolled down the hill with the driver in it."
An ambulance attended the scene on 23rd September, as did a number of local farmers and the Wales Air Ambulance.
