SIR, I was fortunate enough to visit the old, quaint Savoy Theatre Monmouth and to see Blood Brothers the Play by Willy Russell, brilliantly directed and expertly performed by Off Centre Theatre. It is difficult to single out just one person on stage but for me, personally, I have to applaud the part of Eddie played by Reuben Tourettes who has a rare talent indeed. It made me wonder as to whether or not the author came near to a life experience like that because it was written from the heart. I, myself, had brought up twin girls; one with a rare talent of painting of which I have many adorning my walls and the other creates beautiful stained glass which can be seen in my windows. After seeing the play I couldn't help but feel very sad. If only I had persuaded my daughters to trace their birth mother. I had asked them both if they wanted to do this, but neither of them did. Maybe I should have persuaded them. What immense joy could we have given to that brave young girl who, for whatever reason, had no choice but to give them up for adoption. Giving joy to others is what life is all about. What a thought just before Christmas, most certainly a time of giving. Giselle Mcaw (Monmouth)
