The congregation at St Teilo’s Church, Llantilio Crossenny was much larger and more diverse than usual at an Animal Service, held on Sunday 20th of September.
“Some of the congregation even brought their owners!” said Revd. Heidi Prince.
People brought their pets, a huge variety of dogs, as well as a 75 year old tortoise. They were also joined by farmers, who could not bring their cattle, but who have spent their lives working with animals.
“The service gave people an opportunity to give thanks for the animal kingdom, whether their pets, farm animals or wildlife.”
“A common sense of respect and love for animals brings people together, from all generations and all walks of life. People are able to really get to know each other through this common bond.”
