SIR,

On behalf of Alzheimer's Society, I would like to

thank all those people who supported the World

Alzheimer's Day Concert at Haberdashers' Monmouth

School for Girls on September 21st when the combined

societies from Bristol, Hereford and Monmouth, together

with their orchestras, gave a splendid performance of

Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera, "The Pirates of

Penzance."

The attendance was excellent and the many prizes

donated by local businesses for the raffle, extremely

generous.

This resulted in a magnificent sum, well in excess of

£3,000, being donated to the local branch of Alzheimer's

Society.

As so many people were involved in this event,

which resulted in a happy and enjoyable evening, the

organisers wish to publicly thank everyone for giving their

time and talents to such a worthy cause.

A few raffle prizes have still to be claimed! The

winning numbers are - Blue 18, Green 24 and Green 49.

Please phone Monmouth 714697 to claim prizes. These

will be held for three weeks, after which they will be given

to the local branch of Alzheimer's Society to raffle at other

fundraising events.

Colwyn Sillman
