HUW Thomas, from The Trust for Sick Children in Wales, is pictured receiving a £1,000 cheque from The Narth Singers.
The money was mainly raised from the Christmas concert given by the choir at Pelham Hall in December and then additional funds came from carol singing at The Lion in Trellech. Mr Thomas was due to talk at the Christmas concert, but at the last minute was unable to attend, so Joy Wade-West, a keen supporter of the trust stepped in and delivered a heartfelt plea to the audience for funds.
“The Trust for Sick Children in Wales is extremely pleased to accept this cheque for £1,000 which has been raised by the Narth Singers,” said Mr Thomas.
“The money will help us to continue to support families whose children are critically ill in the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.”
Parents are able to stay free of charge in the accommodation, which enables them to stay very close to their sick child.
The Narth Singers are a mixed four-part harmony choir who give two concerts each year in aid of local charities. If anyone is interested in joining the choir (particularly tenors and basses) or finding out more about The Narth Singers, contact [email protected] or call 01600 716189.
