A SAFE containing approximately £13,000 has been stolen in a Monmouth burglary.

Gwent Police have appealed for information after a safe containing around £13,000 cash and jewellery of sentimental value was stolen from a property on Brook Estate. The burglary took place sometime between 2pm on Wednesday 10th August and 10pm on Saturday 13th August.

An appeal for information has been launched after the safe containing around £13,000 cash and jewellery of sentimental value, was stolen from a home on Brook Estate in Monmouth. It has been said that a large quantity of the stolen cash is in Scottish £10 and £20 notes. The burglary took place sometime between 2pm on Wednesday 10th August and 10pm on Saturday 13th August.The safe also contained two child’s piggy banks complete with saved-up birthday, Christmas and ‘tooth fairy’ money.

The family, who do not wish to be identified, have appealed for anyone who finds the nine-year-old girl’s piggy bank, china unicorn money box, or the broken safe, to inform police.It is not yet known how access was gained to the property.
