POLICE are appealing for witnesses after reports that a 13-year-old boy was approached by two men in a white van yesterday afternoon.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 5.15pm on Wednesday (10th January), took place on Tudor Road in Wyesham, Monmouth.

Gwent Police say the boy was riding on his bike on Tudor Road, with his friends, when two males traveling in the van approached and attempted to take hold him before making off towards Mayhill or Wyesham Avenue.

Officers are investigating and are patrolling the area. They are keen to speak to the males in the van which is described as small, white in colour with two seats in the front and door on the side.

A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: “Whilst this was distressing for the boy we would like to stress he was not harmed.
