POLICE officers in Monmouth will be holding a free tool marking event as part of an effort to combat tool thefts in the area.

In a response to a number of van break ins around Monmouth where tools were stolen, the police will be offering free tool marking and crime prevention advice.

"They’ll also be offering advice on security and will be marking up tools with the owners details to ensure they can always be identified if they were stolen to be sold on.

"We understand more often than not the tools stolen are the victim’s livelihood and we will continue to actively take action against those responsible."
