A THIRTY-nine-year-old Monmouth man was charged with possession of a Class A drug following a drugs raid at an address in Carbonne Close yesterday, 20th August.

Two large pieces of crack cocaine were recovered from the address.

The man will appear in court in the near future.

PC Chris Butt, Ward Manager for the Monmouth Neighbourhood Team, said: “We will not tolerate Class A drug use in the Monmouth area. We are dedicated to tackling this issue and take a very proactive stance to reduce this concern within our community.

“We are also working in partnership with residential Landlord Associations, to evict those who cause harassment, alarm and distress to their neighbours through this type of criminal behaviour.

“27 search warrants have been executed by my team in the past 18 months. More are planned for the coming weeks. Any person with information that will assist us in tackling this issue, can contact me confidentially or report directly to Crime stoppers Wales on 0800 555 111”.
