A PLANE crash that left three people with minor injuries is being investigated by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.

At approximately 15:25pm on the 25th June, emergency services received reports of a plane crash on the A40 between Raglan and Abergavenny.

The plane, a light aircraft, contained a pilot and two passengers. All were treated for minor injuries at hospital.

No other vehicles were involved.

The A40 was closed for some time and diversions were put in place, whilst it was made sure the scene was safe and specialist teams could investigate the crash site.

A spokesperson from South Wales Fire and Rescue stated that three fire engines were present, and that on arrival crews reported approximately 120 litres of fuel on board the aircraft which was leaking.

Fire crews remained at the scene of the light aircraft crash until 8.42pm when the aircraft was taken to a recovery yard.
