THE A40 between Monmouth and Raglan was closed for more than five hours this morning after a collision between a lorry and a van.

The incident took place between the Gibraltar tunnels and the A40 Raglan Interchange at around 2am today (20th September).

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "At approximately 2:25am on Wednesday 20th September 2017, we received reports of an RTC on the A40, Monmouth towards Raglan.

"The incident was between a van and a lorry, the drivers were treated for non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Neville Hall Hospital.

"The road was closed while recovery work took place, but has since reopened.’
