Chepstow-based 1 Rifles celebrated Fiji Day in style on Saturday 13th October, with a dance and feast held at the Beachley camp.
Fiji day is celebrated on 10th October each year to commemorate the anniversary of Fiji's independence from British colonial rule in 1970.
Fijian High Commissioner, Solo Mara, attended the celebrations as part of his UK tour to mark the occasion.
"Fiji has a long association with the regiment and given the number of individuals celebrating today, it is an opportunity for the young Fijians here to learn about their culture and their country."
There are around 40 Fijian soldiers serving with 1 Rifles currently, and as well as making up a powerful part of the Battalion's successful rugby team, they are welcomed in all areas.
"The British Army has a long-standing tradition of accepting Fijian citizens into its ranks," said Captain Ben Cooper
"The Fijian soldiers and families add immeasurable value and flavour to the Battalion and the wider community for which we are greatly proud and thankful.
"Today, as we celebrate Fiji Day with so many of Chepstow's Fijian community, we are witnessing an experience that is rich colourful, vibrant with a friendly atmosphere. It is truly compelling and wonderful."
