Driver arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after cyclist collision

A 28-year-old cyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a car near Magor last night.

At approximately 9.25pm on Wednesday (5th July), Gwent Police received a report of a road traffic collision between a red Audi TT and the cyclist on the Queensway A4810 road between Magor and Llanwern.

The cyclist, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been named as Suliman Haroun. His family are currently being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the Audi TT, a 30-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.
