THE human remains recovered from a Monmouthshire reservoir yesterday could be of Sandie Bowen, who was murdered almost 20 years ago after going missing from her home in Llandogo.
The remains were recovered for identification from Wentwood Reservoir between Caldicot and Newport yesterday after a member of the public reported the sighting to Gwent Police.
It has been said that the remains could be of Sandie Bowen, who was murdered almost 20 years ago.
A spokesperson from Gwent Police said the disappearance of Mrs Bowen was “one of our many lines of enquiry.”
Mrs Bowen, who was 53, went missing from her home in Llandogo in August 1997.
Her husband Michael Bowen was convicted of her murder and served 15 years in prison, but her body was never found.

He was released from prison in February 2015.
A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: “Following the discovery of human remains in Wentwood Reservoir, we can now confirm that the body has been identified as female. Specialist teams are now working with officers to identify the body.
