MONMOUTH Town lost in their league clash away at Cardiff Metropolitan University on Saturday (21st November.)

The students defeated the visiting Kingfishers 5-2, leaving Monmouth 10th in the league after six defeats in 13 games.

Town actually trailed 4-0 at one stage before goals from Richard Greaves, who took his league tally to six, and Jac Hardman threatened the Cardiff side’s lead.

Chris Baker, Adam Roscrow and Isaac Philpot scored for second placed Cardiff, while two own goals didn’t help Monmouth’s cause. The home side keep the pressure on top placed Goytre, who they trail by three points.

Monmouth’s next fixture is a test away at seventh-placed Penybont.
